PVC In Daily Life: How Do I Style It?

PVC is one of those materials that goes in and out of style, and also has had various connotations and stereotypes associated with it over the years since its beginning around the late 1800’s and early 1900’s. The most important thing with styling and clothes is not following trends, but feeling confident in your own skin and style, which is why PVC is such an incredible material to explore - it makes a statement, without being so bold and out there as latex is, and it’s much more budget friendly.
Accessorising

Starting off simple, focus on accessorising your outfits with a splash of PVC to add a tiny bit of eye-catching shine, or a different texture - it’s incredible against coarse denim! We stock a wide range of PVC accessories, and the sky’s the limit when it comes to styling them.

We absolutely adore adding a PVC choker to a simple outfit - it makes a statement as bold, and also doubles as the perfect accessory for festival season, your next gig or night out with friends. Black is obviously a classic, but we’re partial to the red and burgundy for that little splash of colour and attitude.

Gloves are another incredible way to include some PVC. Our long fingerless gloves are bold and daring when styled with festival gear, but provide a subtle hint of shine when poked out the end of an oversized coat or jacket. They’re such a simple accessory but can really transform a look.

Our final pick is our waspie belt, available in multiple colours and designed to flatter your curves and shape, without the hassle of a full corset. They’re perfect for layering over anything flowy, and complimenting your summer dresses with a touch of PVC goodness.

Simple Items To Wear

If you feel like stepping up your PVC game, we recommend nothing more than a stunning pair of our boots, like the Rosanna ankle boots, or the Bella peep toe boots. Both make a bold statement and can easily be layered over, or under jeans, with leggings, skirts or shorts. The classic style of these boots combined with the PVC makes them a winner in any circumstance.

Similarly you can't go wrong with a PVC body or top to add that much needed shine to your daily ‘fit, these can again be layered wonderfully with combinations of mesh and PVC to make them even bolder. Our personal favourites have to be the sleeveless bordeaux body for summer and layering, and the PVC sensation top, available in Black or Burgundy for a stylish corset inspired look. Slipping them under a loose jacket will keep you both subtle and feeling like the glorious PVC-magpie you are!

Our final favourite is the PVC dancer skirt, which is incredible when styled with almost anything. It employs the versatility of a skater skirt but with the intense sheen of PVC making it the perfect summer wardrobe piece. If you want to take PVC professional, try our PVC clarity skirt, which looks super flattering with a blouse and some simple court shoes.

Outfits With More PVC

Keeping it subtle under layers, or bold by itself, we’ve styled our PVC Senora dress with our long fingerless gloves, for a head to toe PVC look, but it's equally as incredible dressed down with a denim jacket too. If this is too revealing, why not style up our Samantha dress with her cheeky keyhole neckline for a more modest look.

You can never go wrong with a shirt as a jacket, so try our PVC shaped shirt which is wonderful to be layered over vests and tees for a grungy PVC look, or paired with some tidy trousers for a more professional vibe. Available in Black and Red, this shirt adds the splash of colour you didn’t know you needed.

Shirt as a jacket not for you? We have jackets you can wear as jackets, starting with our PVC buckled retro jacket for a hardcore biker look, fit for the streets of Camden! Alternatively we love bringing out our inner Keanu reeves in our Magneto trench coat for a glorious head to toe PVC look, styling it with chunk combat boots and distressed jeans.
